Conroe Walkabout Tour Wraps Up Our 2023 Events

We rounded out our 2023 Walkabout Tour season this past weekend with a stop at The Lone Star Convention and Expo Center in Conroe, Texas. We saw plenty of familiar faces in the crowd as well as horsemen new to the Method.

Clinton brought his performance horses Reagan, Slingshot and Stetson to work with throughout the weekend. The event was Slingshot and Stetson’s first time away from home and the up-and-coming performance horses offered up a lot of great learning opportunities. Professional Clinicians Jeff Davis and Kristin Hamacher joined Clinton in the arena for the training demonstrations sometimes working with Slingshot and Stetson and other times working with local horses. Demonstrations focused on a variety of topics from colt starting to earning a horse’s respect and trust on the ground to trouble-free trailer loading.

Camp Cowboy joined us for the weekend as our Ritchie Charity Ball Toss group. The nonprofit organization provides free equine assisted growth and peer support programs to service members, veterans, first responders and family members. Founded and staffed by veterans, Camp Cowboy is based in Kempner, Texas. Throughout the weekend, the group raised $3,860 to support their mission.

Over the two days, Clinton gave away over $6,000 in prizes. Laura Bates was our grand prize winner, taking home the entire Downunder Horsemanship training library!

Although the event wrapped up our 2023 tour season, we’re already preparing for 2024. We’ll be coming to Lake St. Louis, Missouri; Rancho Murieta, California; and Clemson, South Carolina, next year. Learn all about the Walkabout Tour and get information for each stop on our website.
